The offerings include rice-pudding which is cooked with jaggery and coconut, banana slices, plaintain slices, peels of plantain&gourd fruits etc. It is believed that the pongala offering made during this ritual will be accepted by the goddess and hence it is called mudi (sweet) poo (rice) kaALi (Kaali).
